Education: Attended elementary schools at Fort Huachuca, AZ, May 1936. Attended Highland Falls High School, Hyland Falls, NY 1936-38, and Tombstone Union High School, Tombstone, AZ 1938 where he graduated in 1940

Military Service: Enlisted 25 May 1940 as Private, and assigned to "L" Company 25th Infantry at Fort Huachuca, AZ.  Promoted to the rank of Corporal and Sergeant in 1941; T-3 (Staff Sergeant) and Technical Sergeant in 1942 serving in the 93d Infantry Division Finance Office. Attended Infantry Officer Candidate School, Fort Benning, GA. Graduated and commissioned 2d Lieutenant 10 March 1943, and assigned to the 3d Air Base Security Training Group, Camp Buter, N.C; Regiment, 93d Infantry Combat Division, December 1943 at Camp Clipper, CA. Departed via Camp Stoneman, CA December 1943 for the Asiatic-Pacific Theater serving on islands of Guinea, Morotai: and Leyte of the Philippines. Returned stateside at the end of World War II, reverted to the inactive reserve as 1st Lieutenant. Enlisted with the rank of Master Sergeant in the Army Air Corps 25 May 1946, and assigned to Squadron "A", 332d Fighter Wing at Lockbourne Air Base, OH until the integration of the US Air Force in 1949.

Assigned to the Finance School at Lowry Air Force Base, CO February 1950, for duty as an instructor, but was changed to the Base Finance Offices at Albrook Air Base, CZ 1951-55: Brooks Air Base, TX 1955-56; Chateaureaux Air Force Base, France 19556-57; Clinton County Air Force, OH 1957-61; Elmendorf Air Force Base, AK 1961-64 where he was promoted to Senior Master Sergeant, awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal and two Outstanding Units Awards.  Reassigned to the Air Force Accounting and Finance Center, Denver, CO June 1964 where he served in the Military Pay Directorate as Financial Systems Specialists; and in the Allotment and Retired Pay Directorate as Chief; Technical Assistance Group, Allotment Reconciliation Branch. Promoted to Chief Master Sergeant and received the Command Outstanding Airmen of the Year Award in 1968. Retired 30 June 1970 upon completion of 30 years 24 days of active duty.

Post Military Activities: Employed as manager of Branch Facility of the Central Bank and Trust Company in Denver, CO from 1971-73; in the University of Arizona Athletic Department from 1974-83. Member of the Davis Monthan Air Force Base Black Heritage Committee, the CMSsgt Fred Archer Chapter, of the Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, and other volunteer activities.
